Melissa Ritchie BSc FCIPD

Melissa has held both operational management roles and HR positions in blue chip companies such as Swallow Hotels and Scottish & Newcastle plc. She has gained a wealth of generalist HR experience along the way but has also acquired some specialist skills, specifically in international graduate recruitment and development.  With over 12 years practical HR experience in total, Melissa has developed a pragmatic and business orientated way of supporting clients of all sizes.

Katie East well RGN OHND BBS MIOSH

Katie is a professionally qualified Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner with more than 15 years experience in the field of Occupational Health and Safety. Katie's experience is varied with past and current clients including the areas of banking, legal, detention centres, healthcare, commercial and production/manufacturing. She works closely with all her clients to offer simple and effective solutions which deliver results and meet the precise needs of the business.

Her main areas of interest/expertise are pre-employment screening and assessing fitness for work, managing sickness absence, preparing Occupational Health and Safety policies, carrying out Display Screen Equipment assessments and other workplace risk assessments, delivering health surveillance and organising health and safety training.

Anthony Smith-Roberts CMIOSH RSP

After a successful career in education in commercial organisations such as Canada Life Assurance, Anthony re-trained as a Health & Safety consultant. Since then he has provided consultancy to some well known organisations across different industrial areas, including Lucas Industries, British Aerospace and Mentor (part of Royal Bank Insurance Services).

In addition, Anthony has built up a long client list of small and medium sized companies covering chemical production, care homes, electrical and heating services, office cleaning, design consultancy, manufacturing, construction and freight handling/distribution.

Anthony is currently studying for a Masters degree in Health & Safety and Environmental Law through Salford University.

Neil Brooks DipM MCIM

A highly experienced marketer with more than 17 years in senior positions for a number of high profile IT organisations before building his own marketing company. Neil brings to EBS a rich experience including marketing management roles for international giants such as Nortel, Honeywell Bull and Oracle on the one hand as well as practical assistance to a number of very small companies in and around Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

Neil is also a visiting lecturer and examiner in Marketing Strategy and Marketing Communications at Brunel University.

Richard Yelland BSc FInstSMM

Richard has over 25 years experience working in senior sales management and business management positions for both blue-chip and start-up organisations. He has held senior sales positions at Amersham International plc (Now GE Healthcare). In 1993, he successfully helped set up a joint venture business between Amersham and AEA Technology plc, called Safeguard International Ltd, where he was Sales Manager and held a position on the Board. In 1999, he transferred to AEA Technology plc and moved to North America to start up a new business on their behalf sitting on the Management Board of that business. Since returning from the US he has focused on helping small businesses improve their sales skills and efficiency through a mix of sales management consultancy and interim sales.

Malcolm has more than 25 years experience in financial management and business development, including senior positions in multi-national companies. He is a Qualified Chartered Management Accountant with a passion for delivering appropriate, timely, reliable information and leading the decisions and actions that come from it. With broad professional and business experience, a background in engineering and a deep interest in technology, Malcolm provides clients with innovative and practical solutions to diverse business concerns.

Malcolm’s background as both a qualified Engineer and Accountant helps him grasp operational and financial management issues quickly which, combined with his no-nonsense approach, helps speedy resolution of business issues.

John Champion BEng MBA FInstSMM

John is an experienced senior executive with a successful track record in general, sales and manufacturing management both in the UK and overseas. His achievements result from a combination of high technology market knowledge, drive, excellent leadership and motivational skills, adaptability, honesty, organisational flair and focus on both the top and bottom lines. Through extensive use of modern business approaches to problem solving and process improvement, John has added material value to each of the companies for whom he has worked. Uniquely, he is happy operating in both the global ‘blue chip’ and SME environments.

John has gained a wealth of experience managing a wide spectrum of companies at senior level within the electronics and IT sectors. In 1999 he became a management consultant and specialises in helping clients with business development, change management, and performance improvement. He has a qualification in business coaching and works with Directors and senior management teams to help them achieve their goals.

Through his consultancy work he now helps small and medium size businesses to develop their own route maps to success using the tools, techniques and skills he has learned from other successful businesses. His client engagements include businesses in sectors as diverse as property to advanced technology and health food to mail order.
